93.7 WSTW Radio InstaWedding – Kathryn and Steven @ Hartefeld National May 19th, 2011

Weddings take months, sometimes years to plan…but not with WSTW’s Insta-Wedding! WSTW put together an everything-in-a-day Insta-Wedding for Kathryn & Steven. One of the biggest days of their lives, all thrown together and put on display (on radio and video) like it was the super bowl! And, it’s all free! In one day they collected everything they needed to get married LIVE on the radio with Spence & Nancy from “The Wakeup Crew”!

I went with The Wakeup Crew to pick up the Bride and Groom at 5AM on the morning of Thursday, May 19th in two limos to take the bridal party around to pick up everything they needed for the wedding…a wedding cake by Bing’s Bakery, flowers from Celebrations Design Group, tuxedos by Formal Affairs, a wedding dress from Jennifer’s Bridal, wedding bands by Orly Diamonds, a rehearsal breakfast from Perkins Restaurant in Avondale, a DJ provided by Tom Barrett Disc Jockeys, and hair and makeup for all the ladies from Trilogy by Alison Salon & Day Spa. The ceremony & reception was held at Hartefeld National, it was a crazy day full of non-stop action.

This was not a normal wedding… THE WHOLE THING FROM START TO FINISH WAS AIRED LIVE ON THE RADIO. I literally watched Spence & Nancy talk on their microphones and seriously heard their exact words aired on the radio in the limo’s radio seconds after he said it (because of the 8 seconds airtime delay). It was very awesome and cool to witness all of this stuff going down and me being a part of it!!! I just wish everything was more organized. I went into this 100% blind, I even asked Spence for the game plan, and he said “I honestly have no clue myself” so at that point I was just like WOW this is gonna be nuts because the radio station is the ones that organized everything. So anyways, this was not the normal wedding, not by a far shot… We picked up the bride and groom and their wedding parties in separate limos at 5am, then went for breakfast at Perkins. Then the girls went off to do their thing and I was with the boys. We first went to Bings bakery to get a wedding cake, then we went to the tuxedo place to get fitted and get into their tuxes. Then we went to the jewelry store to get the wedding bands. And finally we ended up at Hartefeld National, as soon as we arrived Spence had a ball and driver for everyone to hit out into the green. The ceremony was held under the tent attached to the reception area. The reception was short and sweet, bridal party announcement, garder, boque and formal dances were all done instantly. Then dinner was served for an hour, then cake, and dancing. The whole wedding was finished at 12 NOON!!!
