Autobahn Car Show – Egg Harbor New Jersey

June 12th, 2011 No comments

The Autobahn Car Show was today, it was a really nice day for a car show, not super cloudy, and not too hot. I had a really crazy farmers tan because I don’t really go out much, so I took the opportunity to work on my tan by wearing a sleeveless shirt. BAD MISTAKE, especially since I didn’t wear sun screen…. The turnout for the show wasn’t that great, I think mostly because the sky was a little gloomy and there was forecast of rain. Also because there was another big car show happening not too far away Ocean City Car Show in Ocean City Maryland. It is a real bummer because I was hoping that the show was gonna get bigger and bigger than previous years, but unfortunately that was not the case. One of the clubs there was Triple Threat Motorsports. And DJ was provided by my buddy Double E of Next Generation DJ’s.

Liberty VIP 2011 Car Calendar

March 16th, 2011 No comments

So Alex had the opportunity to shoot the 2011 car calendar for Liberty VIP, an exclusive car club for luxury, VIP-style car owners. We traveled up and down the east coast to do photoshoots of select club member vehicles from DC, Jersey, NYC, Philly and even Boston! The calendar print company selected to print the calendars is a major PAIN IN THE BUTT though and production of the calendars has taken way longer than it should. But anyways we got our hands on a couple copies, and they were given to videographer Kenny Cano to shoot a quick teaser preview of the calendar!! He does great work and it really showcases the calendar well!! Watch it in HD for better quality on his Vimeo

Before & After – Jermaine’s K-Break Infiniti Q45 Y33

March 10th, 2011 No comments

Jermaine is one of the Liberty VIP members lucky to be chosen to have his car featured in the Liberty VIP Calendar! But unfortunately he and his car were in Hawaii during the making so much to my sadness I couldn’t shoot it. So I had to rely on using a photo taken by someone in Hawaii, with a car this beautiful it shouldn’t be too difficult to get a great shot but I guess I can be wrong…. The images submitted to me were not really up to my standards, they were very blurry, lacking sharpness and detail, lighting was very bad, reflections all over the car, and a very un-interesting background… I mean seriously, Hawaii… There has got to be like a million amazing exotic looking locations to shoot this exotic VIP car!! HAWAII! So hopefully you can understand my disappointment when the submitted photo has a VERY un-flattering and boring background. Don’t get me wrong, I’m not saying the original photo is garbage, but it’s just not up to my liking, I just have such high standards for the stuff I do. So I spent about a week perfecting this car and giving it the attention to detail and perfection that it needs…. At least now it doesn’t have a picnic table, a tent and some kind of electrical box in the background!!! What do you think?

Liberty VIP – DC with Smitty’s Infiniti M45

December 19th, 2010 No comments

The last field trip for the Liberty VIP calendar was to Washington, DC to shoot Smitty’s Inifiniti M45. He already had some cool locations in mind for the photo shoot so we met up with him at his home and had him take us around the area. We first drove around the National Harbor, which had some beautiful, scenic views by the Potomac River. While we did get some shots in that area, we were unable to get any right by the water because of street restrictions that day.

So we drove into the city and decided to do the shoot with a typical DC landmark in the background, the US Capitol. Fortunately, it was a late Sunday afternoon, so we easily parked in the middle of the street with no hassle and no problems by the cops.

Liberty VIP – Boston with Brendan’s Infiniti Q45 and Mike’s Benz CL550

November 21st, 2010 No comments

Going from a comfortable 50 degrees in Philly to 20 degrees (with wind chills) in Boston can be a pretty drastic change. But that’s what we get for driving up to Boston in late November! We made an appointment to meet up with Brendan and “Fat” Mike in Boston early Sunday morning, so we drove up the night before to beat the morning traffic up 95. So the first location we wanted to check out was the Fan Pier, which was recommended as having a pretty nice view of Boston’s cityscape. We ended up driving around the area and took photos in a number of different spots, but ended up choosing this backdrop for Brendan’s Infiniti Q45.

We later met up with “Fat” Mike for a photo shoot with his Mercedes Benz CL550. We drove around Boston and again after shooting in alleyways and around landmarks, we found the Zakim Bunker Hill Bridge to provide a distinct Boston background for Mike’s car. If you are a Boston native and you are wondering how we got the Boston Skyline and the Zakim Bridge in the same shot, it’s our little secret, don’t worry about it….

Before & After – Kevin’s Infiniti M45

November 20th, 2010 No comments

Kevin and his Infiniti M45 are part of Liberty VIP, and luckily for him, his car has been chosen to be featured in the upcoming Liberty VIP car calendar! The only sad thing is… He lives in California and I won’t be able to make it out there to shoot his car, not that I wouldn’t go there, but I guess no one has any budget to fly me out there. Maybe next time… But anyways he had to find someone local to shoot his car, so he asked a local California friend/photographer Berkeley Clemets to shoot his car. Kevin told me that he was given permission by the photographer to edit the image so I went away at it and did my thing!!! I chose this shot because it was an interesting angle, the other 2 images that i was provided (one was a front on shot, and the other was a side only shot) were not calendar material, so this one made the most sense to use. Anyways this angle is great I really like it, but the ground was just a little boring for me, I mean, not really “boring”, just not interesting or “VIP”…. So I searched the internet to find a suitable background and wow what a difficult task!!! The crazy angle made it VERY difficult to find a background but luckily I stumbled on a Maserati Advertiesement that fit my needs PERFECTLY!! You know the background is good for a luxury VIP car if it is from a Maserati advertisement haha!!!

So yeah, after I found the background I had to clean the car up a little. There were all kind of reflections on the car, you can see on the hood and on the roof there is what appears to be barbed wire, and on the side you can see reflections of the wall of whatever he was close to when taking pictures, and you can see reflections of nearby buildings.. After I got rid of all that I got rid of the blueish tint on the front windshield, and played with the side windows. I’m not sure if I’m 100% satisfied with how I did the side windows but I can always go back and play with them a little more some other time, but I think it’s better than what it was originally.. So after cleaning the car up and placing it in it’s new background we have this nice new image!! Enjoy!

Liberty VIP – Geno’s Steaks Shoot – Philly Rob’s GS300

November 19th, 2010 No comments

It’s nice to shoot a car locally for a change, actually this shoot was literally 2 blocks from me!!! Yep I am only a couple blocks from the famous philly landmark Pats & Genos! It was great to hang out with Rob and admire his beautiful car! In the car with him was the and only Agim – master of the Liberty VIP universe who runs the Liberty VIP Blog, and one of my good buddies Ninja (Jerry Nguyen) who is getting his feet wet in photography..

We had a good time, Rob pulled right up and parked right in front of Genos like he owned the place and layed the car on the ground like a BOSS!! And I set up my camera and started shooting away, the whole time people were admiring the car and driving by with their jaws dropped! Also, I didn’t notice while I was shooting but there was a cop sitting there parked across the street watching us! Really it’s no biggy to shoot here because it is like any other landmark / tourist spot in philadelphia, people take pictures here and shoot video on almost a daily basis. So yeah I wasn’t worried about getting kicked out, and besides I was pretty quick about getting my shots anyways.. And thank you Agim for getting a cheesesteak for Jane and I, yes we are easy to please!
